Pink Ribbon Plates
Frequently Asked Questions

1. When is the deadline to make the 1,000 pre-orders?
We have to get a check for $35,000 and a list of 1,000 registered TN drivers to the State of TN Department of Revenue by June 30, 2008.  We need all the applications, checks and driver affidavits in to your local Komen chapter by June 26 to give them time to process the applications.

2. When will the plates be made?
It usually takes about 3 months to approve the artwork, get everything signed off and make the plates.  We can expect that the plates will be printed in late Sept or early October.

3. How will I know the plates are ready to pick up?
The State of TN should send you a letter telling you that the plates are ready for pick up at your local County Court Clerk’s office.

4. My plates are due in July, should I go ahead and renew?
Until the plates are made later this Fall, go ahead and renew as usual.

5. What will I have to pay when the plates arrive?
The registration fee will be prorated so that you will not pay twice. You will get credit for the months you have already paid in.  Your registration will start over for a new year.  You will have to pay to finish out a new 12 month registration period.  For example, if you are 5 months into your current tag, you will get credit for the 7 months unused.  Your registration month will change to the month the plates come out, probably October.  So, your new tag period will be OCT to OCT.  You will get 7 months credit, pay for 5 extra months to make it a new full year.

6. Who can I contact with any questions?
Your local Komen chapter or Matt Yuill – Email: info@rochellefoundation.com  or phone (615) 310-3581

7. My friend sent in an application and has not heard back?
A few applications were illegible and could not be processed.  If it has been more than 2 weeks since you turned in your name and address, please email me immediately so we can check the status of your application.  Remember, June 26 is our deadline to have our list of people paid.
Only those people who have paid, turned in their full address and signed an affidavit will be among the first people to get the plate.
